The Modern Bulgarian History section accepts original research aimed at: a comprehensive factual and theoretical understanding of the period from the Liberation of Bulgaria in 1878 to the political coup in September 1944; little-known events or those already known to the scientific community from the past of bourgeois Bulgaria, to which new research methods have been applied and a well-founded new interpretation has been proposed; discussions on unresolved issues from the Bulgarian internal and external political, economic, cultural and social history of the period; the memory of bourgeois Bulgaria; historiographical studies, as well as archival ones, regarding documents, photographs, memoirs, diaries, etc.
